During your fasting window, this means strictly no food, no water, no gum, no candy, and no mints of any kind. Even a small amount of food or liquid can create serious anaesthesia complications, so this instruction must be followed precisely.

Yes. This is one of the most important things you can do to set yourself up for a safe surgery and smooth recovery. Alcohol, vaping, and smoking must be stopped at least one week before surgery. Alcohol thins the blood and increases bleeding risk during the procedure. Smoking restricts blood flow and oxygen delivery to healing tissue, significantly increasing the risk of poor wound healing, infection, and scarring after a facelift. After surgery, smoking, vaping, and drinking alcohol should be avoided for a minimum of six to nine months.
